How to Shampoo a Rug

To shampoo your rugs without renting or buying an expensive machine to do it, simply dip a broom into a bucket of warm water to which you have added a little detergent.
While the broom is damp, sweep the rug vigorously. The water and soap will loosen the accumulated dirt, which you can then vacuum away.
